The Lochaber area forms a large coastal & rural part of the Scottish West Highlands and is home to Glencoe, The Great Glen, Glen Nevis, Mallaig, Ardnamurchan & The Small Isles. The region is packed with spectacular scenery from the deepest freshwater loch, white sandy beaches, towering sea cliffs, munros & mountains.
A rich history of Clans, Uprising’s & Clearances interlaced with the scenery makes this area very special indeed.
If wildlife is your thing we have the “Big 5” Golden Eagles, Red Deer, Otters, Seals & Red Squirrels. However there is much more too, from Dolphins, Minke Whales, Basking Sharks, Porpoise, Sea Eagles, Pine Martins & Puffins.

Sitting between Arisaig & Mallaig, we are less than a five minute walk to the famous Camusdarach Beach. Going towards Arisaig, there is a stunning 9 hole golf course at Traigh & Arisaig Village has a beautiful Marina with a gift shop & café.
The small fishing village of Mallaig now boasts its own stunning Marina, adjacent to the old pier with the fishing boats at their moorings, gift shops & restaurants.

Activites

Situated beside the coastline, we have a wealth of sandy beaches and coves to explore & rugged hills and mountains to climb.
Also here in the Outdoor Capital of the UK, we have plenty of options for you to experience both locally and further afield.

From Whisky Tasting at the Distillery or visit Ben Nevis Range, a year round mountain ski resort with Zoom Trax and High Wire Adventure.
Glenfinnan Monument, Cruise Loch Shiel, ride the Jacobite Steam Train, a must for Harry Potter fans. Fishing on Loch Morar, Golf with sea views at Traigh.

Arisaig has a beautiful Marina with cruises to Eigg, Muck & Rhum, there is also Sea Kayaking for all abilities.
Hop aboard the Calmac Car Ferry at Mallaig to visit the Isle of Skye and The Small Isles. Western Isles Cruises will ferry you over to the Knoydart Peninsular and also offer Wildlife Cruises.

Throughout the summer, we have our local events from Highland Games, Agricultural Show & Mallaig’s Maritime Day.
